Some of the older members of the Polk District Merchant Association might recall the business.

: Hello,
: I am looking for any information i can find on Paul N. Trick, proprietor at 1709 Polk St. (L'Orangerie card and gift shop) from the early sixties into the 80s.
: Paul was my uncle, but he kept very much to himself. My father, George was his brother and they had a sister, Joan, in southern california. The siblings were not close, largely due to an abusive stepfather, Owen Caldwell. I believe they all had ptsd and they each dealt with it in their own way.
: Recently i learned that my sister, who's children are all adults now, simply omitted Paul's story from the family history. I am piecing things together for one of her kids, because I remember Paul and his story heroically. He overcame in his way, and now, I want to know as much as I can learn about that.
: Thank you for considering this query and perhaps forwarding it to someone who knows the history of that block of Polk St. or whatever action you think might yield information.
: cheers,
