I'm an amateur historian doing a weekly internet radio show focused on San Francisco history -- www.sparkletack.com
Recently a listener emailed me, wondering about the half dozen or so buildings in the Noe Valley neighborhood which have "Lipton Tea" (and occasionally "MJB") appearing in large white letters on windows above their doorways.
It seems to me that they may be remnants of old advertising signs distributed to local markets. (I've written to Lipton abut this, but thus far no response.)
Is my assumption correct, and if so, any idea during what years such an advertising campaign might have been undertaken?
Thanks...
