I'm doing research on the first wife of James Leary Flood (1857-1926)
Marie Rosina Fritz (1862-1898)
At age 16, while living in Kansas City she ran away and joined: 'Victoria Loftus British Blondes Troupe of Burlesquers'. Rose ended up in San Francisco abt.1879. Her stage name was Violet Elwood. She then worked for 'Bella Union' an old burlesque house on Kearny...she became known in the tenderloin district as 'Petey'.
