MRS. PARKER
No service will be held for Ruth Harriet Parker, mother of Mrs. John A. Younger of Ross, who died Sunday in a San Mateo convalescent hospital. She was 73.
Born in Merrill, Wis., she was the daughter of Seattle lumberman Sheldon Bottum. In 1915 she married Hubbard G. Parker, now a retired executive of Standard Oil Company. They lived in Hillsborough.
During World War II, Mrs. Parker was a Red Cross volunteer. In 1946 she was awarded honorary membership in the student association of San Mateo Junior College for her work in tutoring blind veterans in mathematics. She was also a member of the Hillsborough Garden Club.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her husband, a son, Sheldon Parker of Sacramento and seven grandchildren.
