Death Notice
GRUTZMACHER – In Corte Madera, Aug. 25, 1979, Christian H. (Capt. Chris) Grutzmacher, devoted husband of Marjorie Grutzmacher of Corte Madera, beloved father of Jean Woodward of Palo Alto and Doris Power of Alameda, loving brother of Emma Berry of San Ramon, loved by 10 grandchildren. A native of San Francisco and resident of Marin County for 18 years; aged 78 years. Retired 30 year officer of S.F.P.D. (21 years Motorcycle Officer), retired member of the Municipal Motorcycle Officers Association of California, and the Parnassus Presidio Lodge No. 388 F&AM, the San Francisco Square Club, San Francisco Sunset Mutual Association and a life member of the Golden Gate Sport Fishers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 28, 1979, at 3 p.m. at Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel, 270 Miller Ave., Mill Valley. At Capt. Grutzmacher’s request, his ashes will be scattered at sea. Memorial gifts to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Dr., Suite 6, San Rafael, CA 94903.
