SAMUEL BLITMAN

Family services have been held for Samuel Blitman, 69, of Marinwood, retired economist for the Federal Power Commission.

Blitman died Monday at a local hospital after an illness.

Blitman had been an economist for the federal government, working in Washington, D.C., with the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service where he was engaged in writing corporate tax codes.

Born in Denver, Colo., he was reared in New York City.

Blitman, who retired in 1963, had been a resident of Marin for four years.

He was a member of the American Economic Association. Surviving is his wife, Ruth Blitman of Marinwood.
