Dr. RICHARD C. SMITH
Retired physician
Dr. Richard Clifford Smith of Sausalito, a retired physician, died at home Saturday, Nov. 17, 1990, after a long illness. He was 78.
Dr. Smith was born in Cincinnati. He lived most of his life in San Francisco, moving to Marin two years ago.
He received his medical degree from Stanford Medical School. He served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
Dr. Smith was a general practitioner in San Francisco.
He is survived by two nieces, Virginia L. Justeson of Bakersfield and Marta M. Smith of Gales Ferry, Conn., and a nephew, J. Bruce Medaris of Huntington Bay, N.Y.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley. Private burial will be in Stony Ford National Cemetery in Colusa County.
His family asked that memorial contributions go to Project Open Hand, 2720 17th St., San Francisco, 94110.
