CLARC ROPERS

A graveside service for August Hart “Clarc” Ropers of Mill Valley will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Fernwood Cemetery in Tennessee Valley.

Ropers, 9, died in a bicycling accident in Mill Valley Sunday.

He was born in San Francisco. He was a student at Old Mill School and a member of the Mill Valley Soccer Club.

He is survived by his parents, Mark Ropers and Mary Galbraith, both of Mill Valley; his grandparents, John and Laura Galbraith of Los Angeles and Rolyne Ropers of Redwood City.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel of Mill Valley.

'Clark Ropers was killed in 1980 while crossing Miller Avenue when he was hit by a drunken driver. Shortly after his death,
the Mill Valley Soccer Club created the "Ropers Award," which is still given annually to a member of each of the club's 150-plus teams.'
