The following clipping taken from a San Francisco paper, tells of the death of a former resident of this city:
PRATT – In Alameda, January 29, Mrs. Josephine Pratt, beloved wife of the late F. H. Pratt, and mother of Frances J. Pratt, Mrs. Carrie Pratt, Elwell, Frederick H., and Edward W. Alexander and William T. C. Pratt, aged 72 years, 10 months and 10 days.
F. H. Pratt erected the building now occupied by Albert’s store on the corner of Fourth and B streets. He was postmaster and conducted a general merchandise store in connection. Mrs. Pratt had been blind for a number of years before death came as a welcome friend and relieved her of her suffering.
