VERN S. GILL

A Mass of Christian Burial for Vern S. Gill of San Rafael, a Marin resident for 20 years, will be said Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Isabella’s Church in Terra Linda.

Gill died Sunday in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 48.

Gill was born and raised in San Francisco. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He moved to Marin about 1960. He was office manager for the San Francisco law firm of Madison, Pillsbury and Sutro.

He was active in coaching youngsters’ baseball and basketball teams.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce E. Gill; two sons, Troy and Marc Gill of San Rafael; a brother, Jack A. Gill of San Rafael; and his father, Louis H. Gill of San Rafael.

Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael.

The family prefers memorial donations to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, San Rafael.
