RAYMOND C. NORRIS Jr.

A memorial service for Raymond C. Norris Jr. of Sepulveda, formerly a Marin resident for almost 20 years, has been held in Southern California.

Norris died Sept. 11 in a Sepulveda area hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 53.

Norris was a native of Missouri. He moved to the Los Angeles area as a boy and attended high school there. He joined the Navy in 1945 and after four years joined the Army Air Defense Command. He was discharged in 1965 as a chief warrant officer.

While in the Army he worked with Nike missle systems.

He lived in Marin from 1958 to 1976. He was an avid stamp collector.

He belonged to the Moose Lodge in Novato and several stamp collecting organizations.

He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Ann Norris of Rohnert Park; his parents, Raymond C. Norris Sr. of Baja and Sarah Garten of Reseda, Los Angeles County; and a sister.

The family prefers memorial donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
