JAMES KENNEY
James Kenney of Grass Valley, a former Tiburon resident, died Thursday in a Sacramento hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 33.
He was born in Minnesota and moved to Marin County with his parents in 1950. He attended Redwood High School and the College of Marin and served in the Army medical corps in Vietnam. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 48 in Tiburon and served two years as the troops’ scoutmaster.
He and his family moved to Grass Valley about three years ago.
Kenney is survived by his wife, Melanie, and his son, Richey Kenney of Grass Valley; his parents, Richard and Arline Kenney of Lake Wildwood, Nevada County; and two brothers, Russell and Michael Kenney, both of Penn Valley, Nevada County.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bible Calvary Church on Colfax Highway, Grass Valley.
The family prefers memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
