LUCY M. VAN HISE
A memorial service for Lucy M. Van Hise of Mill Valley, a Marin resident for 17 years and the school nurse at Tamalpais High School, will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Tiburon.
She died Friday at a local hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Van Hise was born in San Francisco. She graduated from Lowell High School and earned a bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at San Francisco. She later earned a public health nursing certificate from the university.
She worked for the San Francisco Health Department for many years. In 1968, she was hired as school nurse at the high school where she worked until recently.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph B. Van Hise; two daughters, Johanna K. Van Hise and Susan E. Van Hise, both of Mill Valley; and two sisters, Nellie Scott of New York and Estelle Rhine of San Francisco.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Russell and Gooch mortuary in Mill Valley.
The family prefers memorial donations to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, San Rafael.
