SYBIL H. SCHONING

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sybil H. Schoning, 87, of San Francisco and San Rafael, will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Dominic’s Church in San Francisco.

Mrs. Schoning, widow of William D. Schoning, a San Francisco engineer, died Thursday at a local retirement home.

Mrs. Schoning was a native of San Francisco and was a teacher there before her marriage.

She was a descendant of a pioneer California family. Her grandfather John Tully settled in the San Jose area in the 1850s.

Mrs. Schoning was a longtime resident of San Francisco who moved to San Rafael six years ago.

Surviving are two daughters, Ysabel Johnson of Ross and Sybil Burns of Singapore, and 11 grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. The family prefers that memorial gifts be made to Nazareth House, 245 Nova Albion Way, San Rafael.
