FREDERICK RIEGELHUTH

A funeral service for Frederick Riegelhuth of San Rafael will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Keaton’s Mortuary.

Riegelhuth died Tuesday in a local convalescent hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 80.

A resident of Marin for almost 50 years, Riegelhuth owned and operated the San Rafael Food Store at the corner of Fourth and B streets from 1933 to 1939. He then went to work for Purity Stores. He had been a member of the Butcher’s Union Local No. 115 since 1944.

Riegelhuth was a veteran of World War I, spending four years in the Navy.

He was a member of the Marin Rod and Gun Club.

His survivors include his two sons, William Riegelhuth and Robert Riegelhuth, and his sister, Katie Bailard.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the Diabetes Association, 1368 Lincoln Ave., San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the husband of the late Katrina Riegelhuth; he was a native of California. Interment was at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield, California.
