John Lezzeni Sr.

John Lezzeni Sr., 74, a life-long resident of Fairfax, died after being rushed to Marin General Hospital last night following a heart attack in his home.

An ambulance was called to the Lezzeni home at 65 Spring Lane when the attack occurred just after dinner. Lezzeni expired about an hour after being admitted to the hospital.

Lezzeni was born on his family’s cattle ranch near what is now Deer Park School. He worked as a building contractor in Fairfax until his retirement about 15 yeas ago.

He was interested in the history of Fairfax and had been recording his early experiences in the community. He had just completed a map of the town as he knew it when a boy.

Surviving are his wife, Clara; four sons, Harold of Fairfax, Irwin of San Anselmo, Romeo of Mill Valley, and Clarence Albertoni of Novato; two daughters, Mrs. Jeannette Schwingler of San Anselmo and Mrs. Marie Neill of Long Beach; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Chapel of the Hill, San Anselmo. Entombment will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
