GRACIE B. JOHNSON
Gracie B. Tompkins Johnson, a longtime San Anselmo resident, died Thursday at her home after a lengthy illness. She was 79.
A native of Cotati, she was reared in the area and graduated from Petaluma High School.
Although Mrs. Johnson lived in San Anselmo for many years, she maintained close ties in Cotati and was a member of the Church of the Oaks there.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. Her husband, Floyd A. Johnson, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Clifford A. Pierce Sr. of San Anselmo; three sisters, May L. Meager of San Anselmo, Ida Cooper of Petaluma and Ester Green of Rohnert Park; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Cypress Hill Mausoleum at Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma. The family prefers contributions to the Church of the Oaks, or to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper says she was the grandmother of Clifford A. “Cappy” Pierce Jr. of Novato, Beverly J. Kline of Willitts, and Mitchell A. Pierce of San Anselmo.
