Ex-Mayor Bostwick Victim of Pneumonia
Frank Bostwick, 79, Mill Valley’s tax collector and first mayor, died at his home there Wednesday from pneumonia. He was the husband of Isabel Stewart Bostwick; father of Stewart A. Bostwick, and Mrs. Herbert E. Catlin; grandfather of John Stewart, Elizabeth Anne and Margaret Lauren Bostwick, Peter and Christopher Catlin.
A native of Detroit, Mr. Bostwick was first president of the Mill Valley bank, organized in 1907 and was one of the participants in a celebration when the territory was first opened for settlement in 1890.
Funeral service will be held from the Russell chapel under Masonic auspices Friday, June 16 at 2 p.m. Interment Cypress Lawn.
