JOHN E. SLAUGHTER

John Edgar Slaughter, a resident of Larkspur, died in Oakland after a long illness Monday. He was 40.

A native of Long Beach, he recently moved to Larkspur from Oakland where he lived for many years.

He owned an industrial advertising agency and marketing consulting service called Communications Group based in the Bay Area.

He was a graduate of Beverly Hills High School and the University of California at Berkeley.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Slaughter of San Francisco; and his parents, Wenford and Joan Slaughter of Greenbrae.

Private memorial services have been held.

The family prefers that any memorial contributions in his name be made to the American Cancer Society.
