GRETCHEN McALLISTER
Memorial services for Gretchen McAllister, 57, of Mill Valley, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.
She died at her home on Saturday after a long illness.
A native of Nebraska, she was a well-known jewelry designer in San Francisco for many years. She formerly operated a jewelry shop, Local Color, in San Francisco until 1972. She had been working as an editorial production supervisor for Miller Freeman Publications in San Francisco.
She attended Medford, Ore., schools and later moved to San Francisco in 1945. She studied art at the San Francisco Art Institute and the University of California at Berkeley.
She moved to Marin County in 1964.
She has no immediate family members surviving.

A Death Notice in the same paper says she was the niece of Mrs. Gretchen Johnson of Medford, Ore., and a cousin of Mrs. Esther Nicss of Grand Island, Neb.
