JOHN HOWARD PETTIT

No services will be held for John Howard Pettit of Inverness Park, a Marin resident for the past five years.

Pettit died Thursday from injuries he suffered after being struck by a car. He was 28.

Pettit was born in Middletown, Ohio. He was raised there and moved to California several years ago. He lived in Marin on and off for the past five years.

He was a tree surgeon for the past year with the Pacific Sloat Tree Service.

He is survived by his mother, Harriet Pettit of Middletown, Ohio; a sister, Ellen Pettit of Inverness Park; and a brother, Michael Pettit of Fairfax.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
