NICHOLAS BOYD
Nicholas G. K. Boyd, 71, a life-long resident of San Rafael, died in a local hospital yesterday after a long illness.
Boyd was born in San Francisco and his family moved to San Rafael when he was less than a year old. He was a retired insurance agent who had worked in San Francisco.
Boyd and his wife, Gertrude, lived at 25 Quarry Road, since their marriage 42 years ago.
Boyd was a former board member of the Marin County Humane Society and a member of the Marin Big Trees Camp. He served with the 144th Field Artillery overseas during World War I.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Nicholas G. K. Boyd Jr., of San Francisco; a sister, Mrs. John J. Hollister Jr. of Santa Barbara, and two grandchildren.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that his wife was Gertrude Minton Boyd; he was also the brother of the late Miss Jean Boyd; grandfather of Nicholas G. K. Boyd III and Alexandra C. Boyd. Family services were held at the First Presbyterian Church, San Rafael, and inurnment was at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park
