EDWARD G. BARATY

A Mass of Christian Burial for Edward G. Baraty will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Larkspur.

Baraty, 58, died Sunday in a local hospital after a long illness.

He was born in San Francisco. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a postal supervisor for 30 years in San Francisco. He retired seven years ago. He lived in Mill Valley for 20 years before moving to Larkspur 10 years ago. He was a coach for the Catholic Youth Organization, the Little League of Mill Valley and Larkspur and the Babe Ruth of Central Marin. He was a former member of the Young Men’s Institute.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Baraty of Larkspur; a daughter, Patricia Godsey of Eureka; three sons, Edward F. and Dennis P. Baraty, both of San Rafael, and William P. Baraty of Larkspur; his mother, Sarah Baraty of Tulsa, Okla.; and a brother, Leonide Veale of Tulsa, Okla.

A rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock tonight at the Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel, Mill Valley. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael. The family prefers memorial gifts to the Hanna Boys Center, the St. Vincent’s School for Boys or a favorite charity
