Former Local Woman Commits Suicide
News of a particularly sad nature came there last Thursday with the announcement of the death down at Burlingame of Mrs. Catherine Goericke, who until a year or so ago lived on Southern Heights, in this city.
Grieving over the death of her daughter Helen, Mrs. Georicke (sic) hanged herself in the garage. The body was found by the husband, W. A. Goericke, upon his return at night from San Francisco.
The daughter Helen, 15 years old, passed away last March, and since then, it is reported, the mother had been inconsolable. During their residence here the mother’s affection for the girl was remarked by the neighbors.
The funeral was held Wednesday of this week.
