BARBARA CONE

Barbara Cone, a retired clerk typist from Tiburon, died Sunday at Marin General Hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Cone, a California native, was 76. She had been a clerk-typist for the state Department of Education.

She lived in Mill Valley in her early years and later moved to Berkeley, where she attended the University of California.

She married and lived in Colorado for a time before moving back to California during World War II. She later lived in Washington, D.C., Oklahoma and then in Sacramento until her husband, Laurence, died in 1973.

She had lived in Tiburon since 1974.

She is survived by a son, Stephen Cone of Bowie, Md., and one grandchild.

There will be no funeral service.

The family prefers memorial gifts to the California Marine Mammal Center at Fort Cronkhite.
