FAY S. GOSSER

A memorial service for Fay Shirley Gosser of Healdsburg, a former Mill Valley resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Fred Young & Co. in Healdsburg.

Mrs. Gosser died Thursday at Healdsburg General Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 76.

She was a native of Cazadero and lived many years in Mill Valley before moving to Healdsburg 15 years ago.

She and her husband, George C. Gosser, established Gosser’s Meats in Mill Valley in 1922. The business relocated to Miller Avenue in 1954 and the store is now known as Jerry’s Meats. Her husband died previously.

Since moving to Healdsburg, Mrs. Gosser had been a 10-year volunteer at Healdsburg General Hospital.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan Gosser of San Jose and Lenore Gosser of San Rafael; a son, Skip Gosser of Mill Valley; a sister, Ethel Howard of Healdsburg; and four grandchildren.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity.
