LILLIAN E. SUGARMAN
Lillian E. Sugarman of Mill Valley, who was active for many years in veterans auxiliaries along the East Coast, died Tuesday at Marin General Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 87.
Mrs. Sugarman was born in Florida and lived on the East Coast until 1978, when she moved to Marin.
For many years, she served in leadership positions in East Coast veterans auxiliaries, including the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and the Jewish War Veterans of the United States.
She was an avid reader and writer and kept abreast of national and international issues.
Her husband, Saul Sugarman, a department store manager, died about 12 years ago.
Her survivors include a daughter, Alice Rosensweig of Strawberry, and a son, George Sugarman of Tiburon.
Services are pending at Russell and Gooch Mortuary in Mill Valley.
Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society are preferred by the family.
