FRED WEST

Fred Garfield West, 82, of 1103 Irwin Street, San Rafael, died Friday at a Novato rest home after suffering a skull fracture in a fall.

Coroner Frank J. Keaton said West apparently suffered a cerebral hemorrhage while walking and fell striking his head on the pavement at 3:30 p.m. He died at 5:23 p.m.

West, a retired vacuum cleaner salesman, is survived by two nephews in San Francisco.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael.
