Sudden Death Of Nathaniel P. Glann

The funeral of Nathaniel P. Glann, a contractor well known in this county and throughout the bay section, was held Monday afternoon from the Glann residence in Corte Madera. The ceremony was attended by a large number of friends, many of whom formed the funeral cortege to Mount Tamalpais cemetery, where the remains were placed in a vault.

The death of Mr. Glann, apparently enjoying the best of health, came as a shock to his acquaintances. It occurred Saturday at Sacramento, where Mr. Glann had gone in response to a notification received from legal representatives of a relative, that he had been named one of several beneficiaries of a will disposing of a large estate.

Mr. Glann was stricken the day of his arrival in Sacramento. Mrs. Glann was called to his bedside and remained with him until the end came a few days later. A number of contracts for road building and other construction work were executed by Mr. Glann in this county, and as a result he was a familiar figure in many of the Marin county towns.

The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Merrie A. Glann, to whom his share of the bequest probably will revert, and a sister, Mrs. F. M. Haughton. He was a native of Ohio, and had lived in Corte Madera for many years. Mrs. Glann is widely known for her activity in charitable movements and local social circles. Mr. Glann was about 52 years of age.
