RAYMOND C. GRIALOU

Raymond C. Grialou of Ross, a hotel owner and executive, collapsed and died Monday while playing golf in Napa. He was 45.

Mr. Grialou was born and raised in San Francisco. He had lived in Ross for about seven years.

He was a 1962 graduate of Stanford University, where he majored in economics.

He owned hotels in San Francisco and Marin, including the Corte Madera Inn.

He was past president and board member of Best Western International, past president of the Golden Gate Motel Association and vice president of the San Francisco Hotel Association.

He also was a board member of the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau and of the Marin Unit of the American Cancer Society and was a member of Rotary International.

Mr. Grialou is survived by his wife, Diane; one son, Garrett Grialou; two daughters, Jeanine and Julie Grialou, all of Ross; a sister, Alrene (sic) Flynn of San Rafael; and his mother, Alphonsine Grialou of San Francisco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4 p.m. today at St. Anselm’s Church in Ross. Burial will be private at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the Raymond C. Grialou Scholarship fund at St. Ignatius High School in San Francisco or the American Heart Association.
