WARREN UPPER
A memorial service for Warren Upper of Santa Rosa, a former Novato resident, was to be held at 3:30 p.m. today at the Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa.
Mr. Upper died unexpectedly Sunday at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He was 63.
He was a native of Auburn, Wash., and lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, before moving to Marin.
Mr. Upper worked for the Amfac Corp. in Hawaii and in the insurance division of Firemen’s Fund in Novato and San Francisco.
He had lived 10 years in Novato and moved to Santa Rosa after his retirement 10 years ago. He and his family own the Travel Lodge on Santa Rosa Avenue.
Mr. Upper was a member of the Sir Francis Drake Kennel Club. He was active in the breeding and showing of Afghans. He was also a member of the West Santa Rosa Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Rose Upper of Santa Rosa; a daughter, Susan Upper of Santa Rosa; a son, Richard Upper of Los Angeles; and a twin sister, Nancy Foran of Atherton.
The family prefers that contributions be made to the Caritas Fund at the Church of the Incarnation, 550 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa, 95404.
