ESTHER C. CLARK

Esther C. Clark, a longtime Petaluma resident, died Thursday at a convalescent hospital in Petaluma after a lengthy illness. She was 88.

Mrs. Clark was born in Doyle, Kans., and moved as a young child with her family to Marin County. Her late father, Fredrick Hamilton, operated the post office and feed mill in Novato for many years.

After her marriage to George Clark 65 years ago, she moved to Petaluma. He died in May of 1976. His father was John Clark, who had been a Marin County supervisor many years ago.

Mrs. Clark worked 25 years as bookkeeper for the G. P. McNear Co. in Petaluma and later was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Ruth McNulty of Petaluma and Jeanne Pearson of El Cajon; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary in Petaluma. Friends may call there after 8 a.m. Saturday.

Private inurnment will be at Chapel of the Chimes in Santa Rosa. The family prefers that contributions be made to a favorite charity.
