DELORES YANNI
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Raphael’s Church in San Rafael for Delores Yanni, a nurse and longtime resident of San Rafael.
Ms. Yanni died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1987, at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae after a long illness. She was 53.
She was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, and came to California in the late 1950s. She lived in San Francisco for a time before moving to San Rafael about 20 years ago.
Her nursing work was in education and training and critical care. She had worked at Marin General Hospital and most recently at Kaiser Hospital in San Francisco.
Ms. Yanni is survived by a sister, Grace Bosco of East Liverpool; three brothers, Anthony Yanni of East Liverpool, John Yanni of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Steve Yanni of Fort Worth, Texas; and her longtime friend, Jean Veit of San Rafael.
A private burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
The family prefers contributions in her memory be made to the National Marfans Foundation, 382 Main St., Port Washington, N.Y., 11050, or to the American Heart Association.
