A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Isabella’s Catholic Church in Terra Linda. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael.

Mrs. Simontacchi was born in Ohio and was a graduate of the University of Dayton. She had lived in Marin since 1958.

For 25 years, she was a teacher at Tamalpais High. As part of her job, she taught classes in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation for the American Red Cross.

Survivors are two daughters, Katherine Nestler of Rohnert Park and Karen Simontacchi of San Rafael; a son, Steven Allen of San Rafael; three sisters, Martha Jean Willhoite, Beverly Hartness and Carol Eckstein, all of Dayton; two brothers, Fred and Don Miller, also of Dayton; and a grandson.

Her husband, Allen B. Simontacchi, died previously.

The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael.

The family has asked that donations in her memory be sent to the American Cancer Society.
