MARIA PERERIA-NUNES
A Mass of Christian Burial for Maria Pereria-Nunes of Petaluma will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at Saint James Catholic Church in Petaluma. Mrs. Pereria-Nunes, 69, died Thursday at Kaiser Hospital in San Rafael after a long illness.
She was born and reared in St. Jorge, the Azores. She came to the United States 14 years ago. She lived in Petaluma for nine years.
She was a member of the Petaluma Holy Ghost Society.
Her husband, Antonio Nunes, preceded her in death.
She is survived by four sons, Antonio Nunes of Petaluma, John Nunes of Santa Rosa, and Joe Nunes and David Nunes both of Petaluma; a daughter, Maria Bernadette Nunes of Petaluma; four sisters, Laura Luis of Hayward and Regina Belo of Washington, Cremilde Franco of Ignacio, and Lidia Pereria of the Azores; four brothers, Felisberto Pereria of Petaluma, Antonio Pereria of Merced, and Fernando Pereria and John Pereria, both of the Azores; and one grandchild.
Entombement will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Petaluma.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
