Mrs. MABEL R. MURPHY Succumbs

Mrs. Mabel T. Murphy of San Rafael died today in a Marin hospital following a long illness. She was the widow of Ralph E. Murphy, founder of Ralph E. Murphy and Sons Contractors of San Rafael.

A native of Canada, she came to California when she was three years old and lived in Marin the past 28 years. Her home was at 74 West Crescent Drive, San Rafael. Her husband died in 1957.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by a daughter, Miss Frances G. Murphy of Santa Rosa; three sons, Everett T. Murphy, Richard A. Murphy and Leonard L. Murphy, all of San Rafael, and all partners in the contracting firm; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Brownscombe of Sonoma, and three grandchildren.

She was a member of San Rafael Chapter 215, Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo. Inurnment will be private.
