MARIA E. TAYLOR
Maria E. Taylor of San Rafael, a longtime Marin resident, died Friday at the Hillhaven Convalescent Hospital in San Rafael after a long illness. She was 97.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Napa County and reared in the Bay Area. She came to Marin in 1924 and had lived in Novato, Larkspur, Ignacio and San Anselmo before moving to San Rafael.
She was a member of St. Rita’s Church in Fairfax.
She is survived by a daughter, Marie Bettencourt of San Anselmo; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Oct. 26 at St. Rita’s Church in Fairfax. Burial will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
The family prefers spiritual bouquets or contributions to a favorite charity.
