ROBERT A. OLESON
Robert A. Oleson of Petaluma, a former Marin resident, died Saturday at Petaluma Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 56.
Mr. Oleson was a native of Montana and had lived in San Anselmo, Bolinas and Corte Madera before moving to Petaluma 24 years ago.
He was a sheet metal worker at various metal shops and belonged to the Sheet Metal Union. He was also a member of the Knife Makers Guild of America.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Oleson of Petaluma; a son, Gary Oleson of Santa Rosa; a daughter, Debbie Philipp of Sebastopol; a brother, Joe Oleson of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Dorathy Robbins of Spokane, Wash.; and a grandson.
At his request, no funeral will be held. The Neptune Society in Santa Rosa is handling arrangements.
The family prefers that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
