ANTHONY W. JURKUS

Anthony W. Jurkus, a longtime Novato resident, died Monday at his home after a short illness. He was 69.

Mr. Jurkus, a native of Chicago, served 22 years in the Air Force, retiring at Hamilton Air Force Base. After his military retirement, he worked 12 additional years there in civil service.

He had lived 25 years in Novato. Mr. Jurkus was a member of the Mare Island Men’s Golf Club.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Charlotte Jurkus of Novato; and a brother, John D. Jurkus of Chicago.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Novato.

Recitation of the rosary will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Keaton’s Chapel of Marin in Novato. Friends may call there from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, San Rafael 94903.
