WILLIAM T. CLEVERDON
A funeral for William T. Cleverdon of San Rafael, a San Francisco insurance broker who died Sunday at his home, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael.
Mr. Cleverdon, who was 85, was the founder of several insurance companies, including Cleverdon and Co., an insurance brokerage in San Francisco, Washington and Los Angeles.
He also founded several other insurance agencies, El Dorado General, Alamos Corp., Clevo Adjusters Inc. and Maritime Agencies.
Mrs. (sic) Cleverdon was born in Chicago.
In 1946, he moved to Sleepy Hollow and lived there until 1963, when he moved to San Rafael.
He was a member of the Commercial Club of San Francisco for 50 years.
Mr. Cleverdon also belonged to the San Francisco Yacht Club in Belvedere and was a member of the Yachting Club of America.
His survivors include two daughters, Barbara Womack of Marinwood and Carol Jean Rogers of Santa Barbara; a son, William T. Cleverdon III of Watsonville; a brother, Carl Cleverdon; two sisters, Mary and Millicent Cleverdon; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
