Death of Mrs. Barnard
On Monday night, September 19th, at 12 o’clock, death came to the home of W. L. Barnard in this city. At that hour his wife, Mrs. Belle Barnard passed away, at the age of 42 years, 8 months and 19 days. She was a native of this city, and lived here all her life. The remains will be taken to the city by Undertaker Eden on Thursday to be cremated at the Odd Fellows’ cemetery.
The Barnards are old residents of this county. Mr. Barnard’s father at one time owned the Cosmopolitan Hotel in this city, and was engaged extensively in the quarrying business in this county. His wife was the daughter of the late Joana Burnell of San Anselmo, and a brother (sic) of Antone and Martin Burnell.
