Convict Dies of Fall in Cell
Injuries which he suffered when he fell in a faint from a heart attack in his San Quentin cell resulted in the death of Samuel Monahan, 72, San Diego murderer, last Tuesday morning.
Deputy Coroner Harry Williams conducted an investigation and reported that his death was caused by a fractured skull which he received when he fell and hit his head on the floor of the cell.
Reports which said that Monahan was in a quarrel with other convicts were false, according to prison authorities.
