VIRGIL T. FLOOD

Funeral for Virgil T. Flood, retired farmer and teacher, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Parent Funeral Chapel, Petaluma.

Flood, 85, died Sunday at a local hospital after a long illness. A native of Arkansas, he was reared in Oklahoma. He had lived in Petaluma for 27 years.

Flood worked briefly as a teacher in Oklahoma, but spent most of his life in farming. He retired 20 years ago. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Petaluma.

He is survived by his wife, Vera L. Flood; five sons, Lawden L. Flood of Bristow, Okla., James E. and Walter W. Flood of Eufaula, Okla., Hoyl O. Flood of Tulsa and Carl R. Flood of St. Paul, Minn.; three daughters, Ruby C. Plonsky of Santa Rosa, Ethyl L. Gollinger of Fairfield and Inez E. Barrow of Sunbury, Ohio; three sisters, Ruby Keys of Petaluma, Rusha Morgan of Bakersfield and Hallie Kirkley of Claremore, Okla.; two brothers, Carrol Flood of Lawrence, Kan. And Frank Flood of Bristow, Okla; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Bahia Valley Memorial Park, Novato.
