GAIL BINFORD
Funeral was held yesterday at the Redwood Chapel for Gail Binford who died Saturday at a local convalescent hospital at the age of 95.
A native of Des Moines, Iowa, she came to San Francisco about the turn of the century and was married there in 1908 to Paul Binford.
The couple moved to Novato in 1920 and operated a poultry ranch at 561 Atherton Avenue for many years. They also owned a feed store on Grant Avenue at one time.
During World War II, Binford, who died in 1953, worked as a civilian defense worker at Hamilton Air Force Base.
Mrs. Binford is survived by a son, Woody Binford, owner of Woody’s TV here; three daughters, Elizabeth Lewis, of Black Point, Gertrude Schuckert, of Three Rivers, California, and Mary E. Brown, of Ventura; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Burial was at Olivet Memorial Park in Colma.
