ALICE E. LIGHTNER
The Mass of Christian Burial and a Rosary were said last night at Our Lady of Loretto Church for Alice E. Lightner, who died Saturday at Novato Community Hospital. She was 85.
She was stricken with an apparent stroke Friday evening at her home at 1025 Sixth Street.
She is survived by her husband, J. Ray Lightner, and a brother, William Bridges of Oakland.
A native of Emeryville, she grew up in San Francisco.
She and her husband have lived in Novato since 1947. He operated a barber shop (Ray’s Novato Barbershop) at Grant Avenue and Redwood Boulevard for almost 20 years, until 1966.
For many years she was a member of the Acacia Club in Novato and the Novato Firemen’s Women’s Auxiliary.
Burial will be private. Keaton’s Chapel of Marin is in charge of the arrangements.
