OLIMPIA CHIOSI

Olimpia Luisa Chiosi, a longtime Novato resident, died Wednesday at a local hospital after an illness. She was 81.

Mrs. Chiosi in recent years had lived in Petaluma and Healdsburg.

A native of Lumino, Switzerland, she came to the United States after her marriage to Antonio Chiosi in 1921. He died in 1975. They had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1971 with a family celebration in Novato.

Mrs. Chiosi was a 30-year member of the Italian-Catholic Federation of San Rafael and a 25-year member of the Independent Order of Foresters.

She is survived by two daughters, Adelia Lichau of Petaluma and Alma Buchignani of Healdsburg; a son, Henry Chiosi of Petaluma; a brother, Elvezio DellaBruna of Novato; three sisters, Josephine Basso of Reno, Ernesta DellaBruna and Erma Tognini, both of Switzerland; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Petaluma. Recitation of the rosary will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the Sorensen Funeral Home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

The family prefers contributions be made to a favorite charity.
