ROBERT S. TRIPP

Robert S. “Sam” Tripp, a Bodega Bay fisherman, died Monday at his home after a short illness. He was 67.

Tripp had worked as a commercial fisherman out of Bodega Bay for the past 22 years aboard “The Seal.”

Tripp was a member of the Bodega Bay Grange, Fisherman’s Market Association and the Bodega Bay Area Rescue.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Tripp of Bodega Bay; four sons, Tommy Tripp of Southerlin, Ore., Ray Tripp of Roseburg, Ore., Noel E. Groff of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and John Groff of Novato; a daughter, Sue Volker of Petaluma; a brother, Claude Tripp of Warick, R.I.; a sister, Abbie Kline of Pollock Pines, El Dorado County; and five grandchildren.

At his request, no funeral will be held. Private inurnment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
