LOT VICKERS
A funeral service was held for former Novato resident Lot Vickers in Chico on Tuesday.
Vickers died Friday in a Chico hospital after a long illness. He was 80.
A native of New York, he had lived in Novato for 25 years before moving to Sebastopol and then to Los Molinos north of Chico.
While in Marin, he worked as a guard at San Quentin prison for 25 years before retirement. Previously, he was a Los Angeles policeman.
He was a 32nd degree Mason of Lafayette Lodge No. 126 of Sebastopol. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and Eastern Star No. 609 of Novato, the Sacramento Shrine Club, the Rainbow Fathers, and a past member of the Ancient Egyptian Order of Sciots, Marin Pyramid No. 31.
Survivors include his wife, Toby Vickers of Los Molinos; a step-son, Charles White of Cohasset, N.Y.; a brother, Jeff Vickers of New York; and a sister, Edith Westlake of New York.
He was buried in Chico Memorial Mausoleum.
