CLAY PINCKNEY
Funeral for Clay A. Pinckney of Corte Madera, a school teacher for 20 years, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Russell and Gooch Mortuary in Mill Valley.
Pinckney died Monday after he suffered heart failure while driving in San Francisco and crashed his auto. He was 48.
Pinckney was a native of Sunnyvale and a lifelong resident of California. He moved to Corte Madera four years ago.
He taught mathematics and general science in t he San Francisco school system for 20 years, working for the past several years at the Presidio Junior High School.
Pinckney was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Pinckney was a member of the American Federation of Teachers and the California Teachers Association, both of San Francisco.
He is survived by his father, Royden L. Pinckney of Bethel Island; a brother, Bud Pinckney of Grass Valley, Nevada County; and a sister, Julia Hayes of Sunnyvale.
Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.

A Death Notice in the same paper mentions that he was the son of the late Bernice Pinckney and survived, in addition to those mentioned above, by a dear friend, Walter G. Phillips of Corte Madera.
