Funeral of Mrs. Stocker

Last Thursday the funeral services of Mrs. Josephine Stocker were held in the Episcopal church. She died Tuesday, May 16, at Los Gatos, whither she had gone to seek health. She was a native of Maryland, coming to California in 1849. She and her husband were old residents of San Rafael. Mr. Stocker, who was the first sheriff of Marin County, died several years ago by drowning. Mrs. Stocker was 70 years old at the time of her death, and leaves many friends to mourn her loss. She also leaves two sons, Jas. T. and Chas. Stocker, the former employed at San Quentin, the latter an engineer on the North Pacific Coast Railroad.
